Entrepreneurship in Your Classroom and Across Campus

Presenters
Glen Taylor - Taylor Corp and Minnesota Timberwolves
Dr. Betsy Gatewood - Wake Forest

Please join your peers for a unique entrepreneurial workshop on February 24th, 2009 on the campus of Minnesota State University Mankato and the Center for Global Entrepreneurship.
This workshop will bring educators together from across the MNSCU system to explore how to implement entrepreneurship into your classroom. The workshop will help advance entrepreneurship across all campuses through different styles of teaching and learning.
The interactive workshop has a goal to provide participants the knowledge to identify and engage students and faculty on campuses who have the entrepreneurial spirit.

Dr. Betsy Gatewood from Wake Forest University will facilitate the workshop and will work with the participants to identify the opportunities on campuses which can foster entrepreneurship.

Previously establishing herself at Georgia and Indiana, Dr. Gatewood currently leads Wake Forest University's efforts to instill entrepreneurial thinking and action across the country. In 2004 Entrepreneur magazine named Dr. Gatewood one of the top ten entrepreneurship center directors in the country. She has written more than 80 articles, book chapters and monographs on entrepreneurial processes, women entrepreneurs and economic development.

Glen Taylor, the owner of Minnesota Timberwolves and founder of Taylor corp. will also be part of the workshop. Mr. Taylor will be the keynote speaker with opportunities for Q&A throughout his talk.

In addition to the workshop, on Monday, Feb 23 there will be a large entrepreneurship conference/expo at the Alltel Center in Mankato. The event, Minnesota Marketplace for Entrepreneurs, is free and will display entrepreneurs and service providers from across Minnesota. During the day there will also be free training sessions related to starting new businesses. David Anderson of Famous Dave’s will be the keynote. Visit www.mnmarketplace.org for more information.

After the event there will be a kick off dinner for those attending the MnSCU Discipline Workshop the following day. For anyone interested in spending the night in Mankato, lodging and breakfast will be available. Funding from the MnSCU system is available to assist in lodging expenses.
